Falling for Christmas


Celebrate the start of December with one of the most eagerly awaited cold-weather streams of the year: Falling for Christmas is the Y2K queen Lindsay Lohan's spectacular movie comeback. The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday favourite plays a spoiled heiress who loses her memories following a skiing accident in Janeen Damian's romantic comedy. She establishes a connection with the lodge's owner (Chord Overstreet) and his daughter while trying to figure out who she is while staying there.

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol


On December 2, Netflix will release Stephen Donnelly's animated musical rendition of Charles Dickens' well-known Christmas ghost story. With voices from Jonathan Pryce as Jacob Marley, Olivia Colman as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Johnny Flynn as Bob Cratchit, and others, Luke Evans plays the stingy lead. We assure you that it is not humbug.

White Christmas


Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, two famous performers who served in World War II, collaborate with Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen, an obscure sister act, to put on a musical in a deserted Vermont hotel that belonged to their previous commanding officer. Nothing about it should function, but it all does in some strange way! Credit the enormously talented main quartet and director Michael Curtiz of Casablanca for making a story that seemed to be kept together by maple syrup and Christmas wishes into a timeless holiday classic.

A Christmas Prince


Spend the entire Sunday getting snug and finishing the Christmas Prince series. The trilogy opens with Alex Zamm's 2017 romantic comedy, in which a US journalist (Rose McIver) visits the fictitious nation of Aldovia over the holiday season. She falls in love with the Aldovian prince while looking for information (Ben Lamb). A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby were both produced in response to the audience's appreciation for the show.

A Bad Moms Christmas

 

The holiday-themed sequel to 2016's Bad Moms, Jon Lucas and Scott Moore's R-rated comedy brings the first movie's BFFs back together (Mila Kunis, Kathryn Hahn and Kristen Bell). The pressure of the holidays and visits from their own colourful mothers interfere with their newly discovered empowerment (Christine Baranski, Susan Sarandon and Cheryl Hines). These bad mothers are more fun in December than any other month.

Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey


You shouldn't miss David E. Talbert's musical fantasy, which has received positive reviews and is filled with holiday charm. The talented toymaker Jeronicus Jangle, played by Forest Whitaker, has been in ruin for a long time because of his treacherous apprentice (Keegan-Michael Key), who stole his book of creations. His daughter (Anika Noni Rose) and granddaughter (Madalen Mills) offer some assistance as he works to restore his legacy and rediscover his inspiration.

A Castle for Christmas


In Mary Lambert's warm romantic comedy, which stars Brooke Shields and Cary Elwes, a recently divorced romance author (Shields), who is under fire from her readers for murdering off a popular character, comes to Scotland to wait out the storm. She makes an impulsive decision to acquire a castle that her father previously knew from the grumpy duke (Elwes) who resides there after seeing it. If she falls in love with anything else while she's there, you'll simply have to watch to find out!

Christmas on Earth is a small-minded idea. Why not spread festive cheer throughout the entire universe? Look to Stephen Chiodo's short and charming stop-motion movie for an interstellar holiday adventure in which a greedy extraterrestrial civilization plots to take our planet's goods by impairing gravity. However, after touching down at the North Pole, X (Dee Bradley Baker), the extraterrestrial sent on the assignment, may have second thoughts after experiencing Christmas enthusiasm for the first time.

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square


You know what would be useful this Christmas? further Dolly Parton Christmas on the Square is fortunately available for that. The Emmy-winning musical, directed and choreographed by Debbie Allen, features Christine Baranski as a somewhat scrooge-like landowner who intends to evict the locals of her community and sell the property to a mega-mall developer. She begins to rethink her plan and her own relationship with the community under the direction of a sarcastic Christmas angel (Parton, who also created all the movie's songs).

The Princess Switch


Are you prepared for a new film marathon? Play the three parts of Mike Rohl's Princess Switch trilogy, in which Vanessa Hudgens plays an American pastry chef who enters a baking competition during the holiday season in the fictional city of Belgravia. There, she meets the prince's fiancée and is surprised to learn that they appear to be twins. Who could pass up the chance for a brief little life swap? Then, with the sequels Switched Again and Romancing the Star, who could resist continuing the look-alikes' story?

The Knight Before Christmas


Your viewing of Vanessa Hudgens movies for the holidays is not finished even after you've seen all of the Princess Switch movies! The actor plays a Midwestern high school teacher in Monika Mitchell's outrageous romantic fiction The Knight Before Christmas who unsurprisingly falls in love with a mediaeval knight (Josh Whitehouse). By Christmas Eve, the knight has magically traversed time to complete an unnamed cosmic goal. a person does!

Klaus


Sergio Pablos' holiday film, which received an Oscar nomination for best animated feature, gives Santa a new origin narrative. The movie's title character is an introverted toymaker whose improbable connection with a self-centered postman (Jason Schwartzman) results in an even more unlikely project: delivering toys to nearby children in the middle of the night. J.K. Simmons voices the character. This brings joy to a bitterly divided town in 19th-century Norway.

Holidate


Here's a tale to inspire anyone travelling alone over the holidays. In John Whitesell's raucous romantic comedy, Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey play a pair of singles who, after a bad Christmas, agree to always be each other's "holidates." Every day of the year, including St. Patrick's Day, the Fourth of July, Halloween, and everything in between, they are there for one another. But by the time December rolls around again, their opinions toward their arrangement — and one other — have drastically shifted.

The Noel Diary


 

This new movie by Father of the Bride director Charles Shyer, which was recently released this year, has elements of mystery and romance. A wealthy novelist (Justin Hartley) visits his hometown around Christmas to settle his mother's estate after she passes away. He meets a young woman (Barrett Doss) there who is looking for information about her own family's past; together, they confront their pasts and perhaps find a way forward.

Holiday Rush


Rush (Romany Malco), a widowed hip-hop DJ, is made to return to their previous house in Leslie Small's romantic dramedy when he loses his job as a result of his radio station switching to pop. Rush and his producer Roxy (Sonequa Martin-Green) buy the little station where they got their start, and as Rush's family gets used to their new lifestyle, they begin to realise they might have more than just professional affections for one another.

The Holiday Calendar


How about a movie that does the same thing while we're counting down the days till Christmas? The romantic comedy by Bradley Walsh centres on two photographers who have been best friends for their whole lives (Kat Graham and Quincy Brown), whose December reunion is inexplicably reflected in the daily gifts from an old advent calendar. The calendar is thus magical? Will our heroes meet again? There is only one way to learn!

The Christmas Chronicles


 

Who knew Kurt Russell was ideally suited to the role of Santa Claus? In Clay Kaytis' 2018 holiday tale, the actor exudes a Saint Nick who, when his sleigh is derailed and his bundle of presents is misplaced in the middle of Christmas Eve night, must work with two young children to avert the celebration before dawn. Russell's real-life partner, Goldie Hawn, plays Mrs. Claus in the Chris Columbus-directed sequel.

Love Hard


For Christmas, how about some catfishing? In Hernán Jiménez's romantic comedy, Nina Dobrev plays Natalie, a writer who crosses the nation to surprise Josh (Jimmy O. Yang), whom she met through an app and has only spoken to on the phone, during Christmas only to find out she's been tricked. Natalie learns the truth about her sentiments after spending time with Josh and his friend (Darren Barnet), whose photographs Josh had used in his profile.

Christmas with You


Rom-com icon The director Gabriela Tagliavini's brand-new holiday film has Freddie Prinze Jr. returning to the genre. An weary pop artist whose label requires a festive song before Christmas is co-starred by Aimee Garcia. She visits a young admirer in upstate New York in search of inspiration, but when a snowstorm strikes, she is forced to stay with the teen's family. It turns out that the girl's widower father (Prinze) is also a songwriter, and the two of them actually produce some fairly outstanding songs.

Holiday in the Wild


Hey, even elephants have Christmas celebrations! In the romantic comedy Holiday in the Wild, starring Rob Lowe and Kristin Davis (a well-known supporter of elephant conservation), a woman named Kate (played by Davis) travels to Zambia with her pilot Derek (Lowe), who enlightens her about the plight of baby elephants who have been orphaned by poachers. Not to mention Derek, Kate grows to love the kind animals.

A California Christmas


You know what they say: West coast, best coast… for holiday happiness! (They say that, don't they?) Shaun Paul Piccinino's double bill brings Christmas romance to the Golden State, where a San Francisco playboy (Josh Swickard) dresses as a ranch hand to convince a passionate farmer (Lauren Swickard) to sell her land to his mother's firm before Christmas. A California Christmas: City Lights, the sequel, continues the tale of the odd pair.

Christmas Inheritance


A city person is stranded in a rural village for Christmas, where they are initially irritated before becoming enchanted. In this variation on classic holiday subgenre by Ernie Barbarash, Eliza Taylor plays the privileged city girl, Ellen; her CEO father takes her to his tiny New England community during Christmas to determine whether she's capable of inheriting his role. She meets Jake (Jake Lacy) and Debbie (Andie MacDowell) there, and thanks to their kind influence, she develops a new perspective.

A Boy Called Christmas

A Boy Called Christmas by Gil Kenan, a charming work, is best enjoyed on Christmas Eve. Young Nikolas (Henry Lawfull) tries to help his father win the prize when the king (Jim Broadbent) offers a reward in exchange for a sign of hope and ends up on an epic journey to an elf-inhabited city of magic.
